Been going to this place since I was a kid, now I bring my kid here. Feels like a home cooked meal at this point.

Going just to experience great Mexican food. Love the fact they charge for chips and salsa, fair food prices and quality service. Sad that some CMF's gave this establishment less stars because it actually charges for chips and salsa!. It's a restaurant and deserves to charge and serve whom it pleases.

Carnitas burrito was hella good

I loved the patio which was relaxing. The prices were very reasonable. I had tasty burrito and a yummy horchata. The staff is very nice. I would definitely go there again.

My favorite Mexican food place anywhere outside of Mexico. The tostada cant be beat. It’s amazing...

All I can say is I have been eating here the last 15 years at least, one of my favorites without a doubt! I often get catering done here as well and they always over deliver.

Used to eat here all the time and I gave it a 5 star review. Moved away for years and now it just mediocre mexican food. The quesadilla sucks, you have to pay extra for stuff to go, there is no salsa bar now, the vibe and the menu is different. I no longer come here. Your money is better spent at any other taqueria within 10 minutes.

Great Mexixan food. I love the Mexican Caesar with chicken. Their guacamole is fresh and delicious. Try the watermelon juice too.

Family friendly, super clean, yummy food!

Hands down the some of the best food you will ever eat. Fresh, quick and inexpensive. Fish tacos are to die for and their breakfast which I recently tried after 4 years of going here is amazing as well. This place is the main reason I'm sad to move across the county. I will be coming back when I'm in town!

This place is LEGIT. It reminded me of home so much, I shed tears. Home is south Texas. Think what you want about Texas, the tacos are incredible. They’re not incredible, they’re religious. Those tacos are blessed by the virgin mary each and every time and they are blessed right here in San Rafael.

Even when busy for lunch, I got my order within 10 minutes. Great food. Only downside is while waiting in line, a person can order over the phone, while you wait for the cashier to take the order.

Authentic Mexican Fare. good service, priced well.

Love this place. Nice restaurant, spacious, beautiful decor, and excellent food! The meat is tender and juicy (I don't like ordering chicken usually because restaurants make it dry... Nope, not here!), salsas are fresh and tasty. Very decent prices. We took a school group of 7 here and our lunch was well under $70. Score! I will definitely be back here soon! Chips are fantastic and super crunchy. Mmm.

Good traditional Mexican food reasonably priced. Very ample portions. You won't go away hungry. You order at the counter and pick your food up at the cook station when it's done. It's hard to hear them when they call your order though, so pay attention. My chicken fajitas sat for awhile before I figured out they were mine. They serve beer on tap as well as bottle and a good selection of sodas. I recommend them when you are in town and want good solid food and a beer.

This neighborhood joint used to be good, now its underwhelmly disappointing. I had ordered a torta de pollo weeks ago and it wasn't good. There were several pieces of chicken that wasn't cooked properly, and it was mostly onion slices. Today my father and I ordered some nachos to go. I asked for chicken. Got home shortly after(I live nearby) and saw that they gave me carne asada. I don't eat red meat cuz I get sick, not to mention its gross. We called them and the person gave us sass about the miscommunication. Really? Um we communicated in Spanish and have proof cuz the receipt said "Pollo". The person mentioned that its ok just eat it, it's good and to take out the meat, if its such a huge issue. Really? Hello there's like there's bits everywhere and it's embedded with the cheese. Not to mention some pieces look on the undercooked side. I completely lost faith in this place and I'm sticking to my usual spot at Taqueria la familia.

Quick service and tasty menu. Not to be confused with another restaurant of same name in Marin. For more traditional recipes, the San Rafael location is amazing however.

Freshly made plates, delicious tacos and great burritos served in an indoor patio atmosphere. It's a San Rafael fave. Try it and I'd be surprised if you weren't satified. Nuff said.

Spicy salsa that is actually spicy! Be careful with the yellow stuff. Tacos are great AND at a reasonable price point. I had a super burrito with carne asada on my last visit. It was perfect. Some people equate shady hole-in-the-wall taquerias with quality food. They are right. This place is quality, authentic, super CLEAN and spacious. It beats all other taquerias in Marin overall. I do have my favorites at other places, but this place is rock solid and a class act. I'd expect no less from a chef/owner that cut his teeth at some of the top fine dining restaurants in Marin. Bravo!

Butternut squash burrito was fantastic. Huge portions here if that's what moves you. The only gripe is that they do not offer complimentary chips. That's Mexican food 101.

Their Al pastor tacos are literally the best Al pastor tacos I have ever had in my life. This place is a hidden gym right behind Cardenas in San Rafael and I come here quite often for a fish and Al pastor taco combo plate. The interior is gorgeous and the tacos themselves are the best tacos. Everything is so fresh and delicious.

This place was a ways from the freeway surrounded by residential and I found it by accident. The interior is beautiful with mosaic murals on all the walls of the dining room. I ordered carnitas soft tacos and the meat was tender and juicy.

Always delicious! super tasty spot for lunch. I've only tried the chicken caesar salad and the chicken burrito also the salad in the picture they're all very good. Highly recommend this spot. this place is so good. I find myself in here at least once a week.. 😀
